We are delighted to be given the opportunity to sponsor Scannappeal once again and this year marks their 35th anniversary fundraising to provide state of the art medical equipment for our local NHS hospitals in Bucks.
The Bucks Hospital Hike:
To celebrate the occasion a team of 20 walkers are taking on the Bucks Hospital Hike challenge this September. The challenge will see the team walk 50 miles across two days (or a marathon a day!). The route will connect the three main hospitals they fundraise for: Wycombe, Stoke Mandeville and Amersham.
The Hospital Hike aims to bring patients, family, friends, and neighbours from across out community together with the common goal of raising funds for Buckinghamshire NHS hospitals.
All the funds raised will go towards the current appeals supporting Buckinghamshire NHS Trust hospitals. The current appeals are:
– The Robot Appeal which will help to provide a surgical robot at Wycombe hospital to deliver the very latest innovation in robotic surgery for patients.
– NICU Appeal at Stoke Mandeville which is supporting the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit to provide a mobile scanner for use within the unit.
When does the hike take place?
The event is taking place on 10th -11th September and will see the team following footpaths and bridle ways from Amersham Hospital to Great Missenden, Wendover, Stoke Mandeville, Princes Risborough, Bledlow Ridge, West Wycombe, Stokenchurch, High Wycombe and Penn.
