Giving Our Surplus a Second Life & Supporting Local Communities

At Chandler Garvey, one of our core values is Environment — and for us, that means more than just running a sustainable business. It’s also about caring for our local community and ensuring that the choices we make have a positive impact beyond our own organisation.

Recently, we invested in new technology to support the continued growth of our business. This upgrade meant that several pieces of our existing equipment — all in perfect working condition — were no longer needed by our team. These items are notoriously difficult to recycle, and it felt wrong to let perfectly usable equipment go to waste.

So, we set out to find a new home for them.

Through our network, we were introduced to A Good Thing, a brilliant platform that connects businesses with local charities looking for donated items. It creates a simple, effective way to rehome surplus equipment where it’s genuinely needed.

Thanks to Charlotte and the team at A Good Thing, every piece of our surplus equipment found a new home — and we’re delighted to see it now being put to good use across the county.
