Expertise and Experience
Alan has lived or worked in Buckinghamshire for over 60 years and for over 40 years, has had experience in the commercial property sector, including developments, investments and portfolio management. Alan worked for Estate Agents, Pretty & Ellis in Chesham in the 1970’s, them went onto London where he gained valuable experience with the British Rail Property Board, where he was involved in all types of scenarios, including sales, rent reviews, land survey and draughtsmanship.
Alan effectively left employment at the age of 28 and took up full time education at Thames Polytechnic (now the University of Greenwich).
In 1987 he worked for Grant and Partners in Mayfair, then onto Hogg Robinson (formerly Howard, Son & Gooch) in Maidenhead. A 2-year term at Raffety Buckland in High Wycombe was followed by a move “next door” to Stupples & Co.
Alan has been involved with many schemes in the South Bucks, South Oxfordshire and Thames Valley area including Anglo Business Park, Amersham, Bell Lane Office Village, Chiltern Court, Chiltern Commerce Centre, Amersham Commercial Park, Corinium Industrial Estate, Stones Courtyard, Chesham, Anglo Business Park Chesham, Anglo Business Park, Aylesbury, OYO Thame, and many more.
Qualifications
2.1 Honors Degree in Estate Management at Greenwich University, graduating in 1986. Elected to a Professional Associate of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors in March 1989.
Business Groups
Alan has been involved in the Lions Organisation for many years and is a former Member and President of the Great Missenden and Prestwood Lions Club and the Thame and District Lions Club. Sadly, both these Clubs have now folded.
Alan has been a Committee Member of the Five Counties Conference held at the Wycombe Swan Theatre for many years. And is a former fundraiser and Trustee of South Bucks Hospice.
Outside Interests
A father of four, Alan is a keen sports fan, and watches a great deal of football and rugby union. In particular Alan enjoys watching Arsenal at The Emirates Stadium and keeps fit by swimming 3 or 4 times a week, cycling and walking during the weekend through the Chiltern Hills, London and beyond.
