Last week, the Bucks Business Awards went off with a bang—and what a night it was! Every year, we’re blown away by the incredible work local businesses do to give back to the community. It’s not just inspiring—it’s a reminder of what makes Buckinghamshire such a special place to live and work.
At Chandler Garvey, we’re proud to sponsor the Community Champions Award. For us, being a commercial property specialist isn’t just about buildings—it’s about people. It’s about relationships, collaboration, and being part of something bigger. Our sponsorship comes from the heart, driven by a real belief in the power of community.
We’ve seen firsthand how businesses across the county are making a difference—supporting local causes, creating inclusive workplaces, improving the environment, and working together to build something better. It’s a privilege to celebrate their achievements each year, and this year’s entries were nothing short of exceptional.
The Finalists
Radley Aylesbury
With over 20 years of service providing windows, doors, and conservatories to Aylesbury and surrounding areas, Radley’s community work is equally impressive. The Radley Events Team attends local schools and community events free of charge, offering music and entertainment via two stage trailers providing not just their expertise but also a platform to showcase local talent. What began four years ago has grown to 40 events annually.
One of their standout initiatives is their Halloween showroom event, which has become a highlight for local children. It offers a safe and fun way to trick or treat and is inclusive for all—especially with a dedicated SEND session for children who might otherwise miss out. It’s truly an event not to be missed.
JR Sports Group
Founded by James Richardson at just 20 years old, JR Sports Group delivers wraparound childcare, PE support, and holiday camps across Buckinghamshire. Their community impact includes HAF-funded (Holiday Activities and Food) places for children with SEND and those eligible for free school meals. This summer alone, they delivered 2,395 council-funded spaces, providing enriching activities and hot meals to children who need them most.
To ensure full coverage throughout the year—especially as demand for these places remains high—they also fundraise to offer additional spaces when public funding isn’t available. Their commitment ensures that no child misses out.
Wycombe Wanderers Foundation
The official charity of Wycombe Wanderers Football Club, the Foundation offers a wide range of services that touch lives across the county. From Strictly No More Falls for over-60s to Street Soccer Academy tackling youth homelessness, Blue Arrows promoting mental wellbeing through darts, Walking Football for older adults, Wellbeing Walks, Bump and Beyond for active pregnancies, and the Warm Hub offering meals and companionship to isolated older adults—their reach is vast and deeply impactful.
And the Winner Is…
Wycombe Wanderers Foundation took home the Community Champions Award this year. Their work is truly exceptional, and their impact is felt across all corners of the community.
But every finalist deserves recognition. Each one showed a deep and long-standing commitment to their cause—values that reverberate throughout their organisations and are honoured by every member of staff. Becoming a finalist in such a strong field is an achievement in itself.
Visiting these businesses and learning about their work is a highlight of our year. It’s genuinely uplifting to see people giving back with no financial expectations—just a heartfelt desire to make a difference. It reminds us that when everyone plays a part, the whole community thrives.
That’s what makes the Community Champions Award so special.
