Chandler Garvey has launched Garvey Consulting, a senior-led strategic advisory division providing embedded, board-level property expertise to organisations facing complex, business-critical decisions with a property bias.
Led by Michael Garvey MBE, the new division marks a deliberate evolution in the works he has undertaken for clients for almost 40 years in commercial property private practice and more than two decades leading Chandler Garvey – a leading Thames Valley property consultancy.
For much of his career, Michael has advised on individual transactions, lettings, sales, corporate acquisitions, rent reviews, lease renewals, and investment and development work. Over that time, he has acted on high-profile instructions for national corporate occupiers and institutional property owners across multiple sectors. While that remains central to the firm’s services, Garvey Consulting formalises a different strand of work, providing senior oversight where property decisions intersect with strategy, governance and long-term performance.
Michael Garvey said: “Property decisions today rarely sit in isolation. They affect risk, capital allocation, operational performance and reputation. Increasingly, boards want senior judgement and continuity of advice, not simply transactional execution.
“Garvey Consulting allows me to focus on a smaller number of significant assignments where I can deploy almost four decades of experience, relationships and market knowledge in a more integrated way.
“Over the past 15 years I have served as a non-executive director and chair/vice chair of economic development organisations that straddle the private and public sectors. That board experience shapes this approach. It is about managing complex processes, aligning advisers and ensuring property strategy supports organisational performance. I will continue to work closely with our established clients. This is about broadening what we offer, not stepping away from the relationships built over many years.
“Garvey Consulting acts in effect as an outsourced Property Director for organisations that require senior-level, embedded advice but do not need a full-time in-house role. The division supports major lease events, portfolio reviews, asset strategy, development decisions and governance oversight across both private and public sectors on a national basis.”
Michael is a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. He currently serves as Chairman of Buckinghamshire Business First and was awarded an MBE in the 2024 King’s Birthday Honours for services to business in Buckinghamshire.
